Overview
At Aquarabia Qiddiya City, Kelight designed the lighting for Slithereel, the world’s longest rotating SlideWheel. The 315-metre attraction combines the movement of a Ferris wheel with a water slide and forms one of the signature rides within the park’s Viper Canyon zone.

The Challenge
Slithereel’s scale and constant movement made integration critical. The lighting had to follow the rotating structure, remain visually integrated, perform reliably in the Saudi climate and enhance the kinetic character of the ride without overpowering it. At the same time, the experience needed to feel dynamic from both inside the slide and across the wider park.

The Solution
Kelight developed an integrated lighting concept using programmable and pixel-controlled light to reinforce the movement and geometry of the SlideWheel. Colour, timing and sequencing were designed around the attraction’s rotation, creating an evolving visual experience that changes with the ride.

The Result
Slithereel is one of Aquarabia’s signature attractions. Its lighting creates a constantly changing visual experience, strengthens the attraction’s identity after dark and makes its movement visible across the park.
