When Stage Entertainment Germany brought the Broadway hit Sister Act to Berlin, Kelight, alongside our friends at Flashlight, was called in to work our magic. With our roots deep in theatre, we know that touring musicals are all about keeping the show alive and vibrant, no matter where it lands. Our job? Make the lighting production tour-ready, so the show could move from city to city without skipping a beat.
The Challenge
For Sister Act, it was all about bringing Natasha Katz’s stunning lighting design to life at the Theater des Westens in Berlin, and ensuring it could be effortlessly rebuilt in hours at each new venue. With rapid stops across Germany, the lighting system needed to be as flexible as it was impressive. Our goal was clear: create a system that allowed the production team to pack up, move, and deliver the same show-stopping performance at every location, while keeping the process smooth and enjoyable.
The Solution
Kelight prepped the lighting system to be fast, flexible, and foolproof. We made sure the system was easy to dismantle and rebuild, ensuring it could be set up in a new location within hours—without ever compromising on the spectacle. Our team’s experience with large-scale musical tours meant we knew exactly how to create a lighting rig that’s both impactful and easy to handle. The result was a system that traveled smoothly from one venue to the next, delivering the same brilliant performance, night after night.

From its Berlin premiere to stops across Germany, Sister Act lit up stages with energy and excitement. The production was able to tour effortlessly, ensuring each audience experienced the full magic of the show.
